Mary Beth Murphy has proudly served as Supervisor of the Town of Somers in Westchester County since 1998.
Born in New York City and raised in Yonkers, Mary Beth has resided in Somers since 1989. She attended Syracuse University and graduated, cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law. Prior to being elected Supervisor, Mary Beth practiced law in Mt. Kisco and New York City.
In 1998, she became Somers Town Supervisor. With a deep respect for the Town’s history and an understanding of the need to plan for its future, the hallmark of Mary Beth’s administration has been environmental preservation, fiscal responsibility, and providing a better quality-of-life for all residents.
Mary Beth has been involved in numerous community organizations including Girl Scouts, SYSO, PTAs, Somers Historical Society, Friends of the Library, and Somers Lions among others. Mary Beth serves on the Board of Directors of Opengate, Inc. and for the past five years has been coordinator for the Somers High School Leos Club, a youth service organization under the umbrella of the Lions Club.
Mary Beth is married to Ken, a partner in the White Plains firm of Murphy, McPartland and Walsh. They have three children, Lee Anne, Brendan, and Ian.
